Über Univ.-Prof. Dr. Andrea Seidl
Univ.-Prof. Dr. Andrea Seidl ist Professorin für Betriebswirtschftslehre, insb. Operations Research an der Fakultät für Management der Privatuniversität Schloss Seeburg. Davor war sie zwischen 2016 und 2023 am Institut für Business Decisions and Analytics an der Universität Wien tätig. Ihre Habilitation erlangte sie 2020 im Fachgebiet Operations Research an der TU Wien, wo sie zuvor auch einige Jahre als Projektassistentin beschäftigt gewesen ist. Eine weitere ihrer beruflichen Stationen war das Institut für Demographie an der Österreichischen Akademie der Wissenschaften.
Ihr Forschungsschwerpunkt liegt im Bereich der angewandten Kontrolltheorie. Inhaltlich beschäftigt sie sich mit den unterschiedlichsten dynamischen Entscheidungsproblemen. In ihren Arbeiten geht es um Herausforderungen und Möglichkeiten in Bezug auf digitale Geschäftsmodelle, um Investitionsentscheidungen im Kontext der Entwicklung neuer Produktgenerationen bzw. im Kontext nachhaltiger Produktion, um Netzwerkeffekte, um Selbstverstärkungseffekte, aber auch um die Auswirkungen verschiedener Maßnahmen bei der Bekämpfung einer Pandemie. Methodisch befasst sie sich mit der Interaktion diskreter und kontinuierlicher Entscheidungsinstrumente, mit Mehrzieloptimierung und mit dem Auftreten von Indifferenzpunkten. Ihre Arbeiten wurden in international renommierten Zeitschriften wie zum Beispiel dem European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, System & Control Letters und Automatica veröffentlicht.
